Rosenstein heard the "tap, tap tap" on the window and was like, "Nah, bruh, I've seen this movie before," and got out while he still could.
 
There's now a report that he won't resign. He will have to be fired.

Stand your ground Rod! Make Trump fire you!
 
If Trump fires him, Devin Nunes will be his even-handed replacement.

Reports from DOJ is that Rosenstein won't resign.

In theory the next person in line is Solicitor General Noel Francisco. He is a RW, extremist. He's a diehard Federalist society member who believes POTUS is basically being a king.

The NYT is directly responsible for this.
 
So the WH leaked that he was resigning and the DOJ leaked that he was being fired.

If he resigns, POTUS can replace him with anyone who has already been approved by the Senate. If he's fired, POTUS can't.
 
As usual, Trump is showing what a coward he is. Trump isn't even in the WH. He hasn't got the cajones or class to look anyone in the eyes and fire them unless it is scripted for him by a TV network.
