Russia sending warships to Syria.

In 30 years when we are still sitting on our oil and the rest of the world is bone dry, we'll be laughing at them.

We could really wreck OPEC. Gasoline could be a buck a gallon in thirty years if we want it to be. And twenty bucks a gallon for the rest of the world.
 
Where are those reserves? If we had them, oil companies would be drilling for thme right now with $100/barrel oil.
 
If we had all the war that is allegedly in ANWR it would last about a year. or be about 1% of our needs.

Oil sands sound good except getting the oil from them creates massive pollution.

Of course if we enforced 40-50mpg CAFE standards within the next fifteen years (which is very possible) we wouldn't need foreign oil.

Russia will not unilaterally bomb Syria. The situation in Libya is distinguishable, as the US first gained international and Arab consent, and got the action NATO approved, and, well, it's the US. Russia is not trifling, but they don't have that kind of juice. They won't spend so much political capital for Syria.

They sent a warship, and it's not just for the hell of it. But it won't fire a round. It's the ultimate token show of disapproval, physically expressing that Russia wants a say in whatever happens in Syria. And they'll get it. But no one is going to fight over it.

Not to say I told you so, but I told you so. Any comments from the board liberals now that Obama's "don't do stupid shit" policy in Syria has not only destabilized the entire region, but also thrust an irredentist Russia onto an equal footing with the United States, and effectively destroyed the European Union?
