I'm old enough to remember when conservative republicans used to believe in personal accountability (at least they said this publicly).

If you want to be a brazenly corrupt politician suckling at the teet of the taxpayer, get ready to be called out. That's the American way.

Oh and don't ever deify a President again...especially one who has no moral compass whatsoever.

It was the mean media not Pruitt who got preferential rent from a person who was lobbying Pruitt directly.

The scary thing is that Pruitt believes every word of that and the percentage of Republican politicians who truly believe Trump is on a mission from God is way higher than you think.

To Trump and his minions like Pruitt, "unrelenting attacks" from the evil news media really means the fact that the press is investigating all of the stuff they're up to and, god forbid, publicizing it. In most administrations that is simply business as usual, but in this administration it is treated as a mortal offense and terribly unfair, as many of Trump's minions are either so corrupt and venal (like Pruitt), or simply incompetent and inept (like DeVos or Carson), that any publicity of their actions is considered threatening.

This is the thing. The press is supposed to be up in your shit when you are a public servant. Do your job and keep your shit above board and the press has no page 1 on you, dummy.
 
strange how the same people who say "if you're not doing anything wrong you don't have to be afraid of the police" get so upset when journalists report on all the things their idols are, in fact, doing wrong.
