SEC releases 2012 Conference Schedule

Georgia could easily get upset at Mizzou. They are good at losing games they should win and making games competitive that should be blowouts.

Dawgs won't win in Mizzou, mark it down.

Poor A&M, they don't know what they're getting into...

Basically GA dodges playing Bama (as they were previously scheduled to meet in 2012) for Ole Miss again while SC loses a home game vs Miss St to travel to LSU.

Nice. Gators have La Lafayette and then Jacksonville State the 2 games before closing season in tally.

Florida and Tennessee really need to get their shit together. The sec is so unbalanced right now.

Hard to say it is totally unbalanced as UGa & USC are both in the top 15 with Bama, LSU & Ark in Top 10, but definitely leaning West right now.

It was exactly opposite the end of the 90's & early 2000's. Alabama, Auburn were down & Florida-Georgia-Tennessee dominated. Things will again change around and UGa-USC will roll again in the East. USC could be pre-season Top 5 as about 9 starters return on Defense & Shaw has a year under his belt at QB. LSU basically loses possibly 1 on defense & just got a top QB commitment. Auburn will be back & UGa is really strong.

I don't know whether to root for them since I hate the SEC or root against them as if they were State entering the SEC.

USC will definitely be pre-season top 5 with Barkley coming back.

I would be amazed if scar is pre season top 5. Allen, Ingram, Paulk, Robertson and Whitlock are all gone. Taylor and Gilmore are likely gone, so that would be 3/4 of the DL and Secondary. They lose their best coach (Ellis) and Alshon is probably gone as well. Shaw did have a nice season, but they have to replace a ton and hope Lattimore bounces back.

Preseason Top 5 = no. Preseason Top 10 = yes only if we win the bowl game.

While SC does lose 1/2 of its defensive starters, we've got backups that are SEC tested and ready for 2012. The biggest personnel losses, obviously, are Ingram and Allen....hybrid players that are hard to replicate. Taylor will be back, but Gilmore is still 50/50. We really only lose one starter on the DL, as Quarles and Fordham played significant reps and have each started before. IMO LB has been a weakness since the departure of the Brinkley twins. Losing Paulk's 6 years of experience hurts, but he had no lateral mobility left in his knees. Shaq will assume his role of QB of the defense. Whitlock was an on again/off again starter at CB (who could not tackle to save his life), but Auguste returns from a heel injury + Vic Hampton will assume Gilmore's spot should he leave. If anything, the secondary could be stronger in 2012 with the return of Holliman and Swearinger. DL and Secondary depth could be thin IF we lose players to injury.

I'm curious to see if Ward sticks with the 4-2-5 for next season and who is brought in to coach LB's and RB's.
