SI: The case against John Blake

Gary Wichard wired $31,000 to Blake because he was Blake's son's godfather? Talk about a sweet godfather!

"Careers come and go in football," said Blake in an exclusive interview with SI.com this summer. "But your character ..."

:jerkit:

The NCAA has a lot more evidence to present than what that article outlines.

Sounds like Maurice Stans, the Treasurer of the Committee to Re-elect the President (Nixon), who said he wanted to get back his good name. I guess Blake can join Stans and keep searching for his good name. Obvious scoundrels, both of them.

A guy doesn't earn the name "Black Santa" from his own players because of his good character.

"I'd like my life back."

Dave Glenn said today on his show that he doesn't think UNC will get any post-season ban. Anything that does not include some postseason ban will be a freaking joke in my opinion. They knew what John Blake was about and the hired him and allowed him to do what he was known to do. Of course the NCAA has become a joke really.

If he didn't say something like that, he would lose many of his baby-blue numb-skull listeners, who don't want to hear anything resembling the truth. They want to stay arrogant and keep their baby-blue fantasies.

If you are lying to the NCAA, are confronted with a piece of evidence that shows that you are lying, and you immediately break down in tears, it may not be the best idea for you to attend the hearing....

Blake is one to talk about character. Yeah, the kids love him. He coddled them at OU, which led to the worst coached teams in the history of that program. He also was so bitter about being fired for sucking (something that everybody knew was going to happen except him, apparently) that he accused the university of racism and destroyed all his recruiting files on the way out the door, leaving Stoops with an empty cupboard.

He isn't hated at OU for nothing. He's hated at OU because he was a resentful dick, plus he STILL in interviews tries to take credit for the 2000 NC, which is laughable. He's a bitter man who has never been able to move on.

NCAA investigators wanted to see documentation regarding a $45,000 loan Blake received from the First National Bank of Long Island -- the same bank from which Wichard sent the wire transfers -- on Dec. 26, 2007. Blake did not turn over that documentation. That act alone can be punished by a "show cause" penalty that essentially renders a coach unemployable at an NCAA institution, but Blake's attorneys say they didn't feel it necessary to turn over any additional documentation after Blake had been terminated by North Carolina. Blake says he took out the loan to consolidate debt at a lower interest rate. He says no one cosigned the loan. His attorneys say the loan has been paid back. Asked if Blake was the only person who made payments on the loan, his attorneys say they do not know.

Well, that's convenient. They know everything about this loan... expect who paid it back.

I won't attempt to address the fallacies of your statement.
