Yeah, I thought Kirk Douglas had finally kicked it when I saw this thread. Amazing that he outlived this guy.

Few here will know this name. He was nominated for a Golden Nymph for Spartacus after obtaining a Screenwise degree in his 20s.
Many will know the name Andy Whitfield, whom legend says sold his soul to the devil at the crossroads to play the role of Spartacus.
Andy and John Hannah played together for years in the role. Andy played with Manu Bennett, Lucy Lawless, Peter Mensah and basically everyone who helped create what we now know as the new Softcore porn genera
Befoer he fell ill Andy, was still scheduled to play his role in Spartacus.

the prequel season was easily the weakest i would think but i still found it wildly entertaining. Especially with how it plays into the next 2 seasons.

i just finished the series finale the other day, the show went downhill after whitfield died. it was the writing more than anything, and the only compelling new character was gannicus. cryxus and spartacus' acting was horrible in the last two seasons. crassus was a bright spot in my opinion, a very complex character who you respect but despise. its a shame though, i feel like if whitfield would have never passed away this series would have been epic...
