I second this - although I will say that the micro-USB port in my Nexus 7 has stopped working, so I had to buy a wireless charging pad (about $20) to charge it. From the internetz it appears that problems with the USB port are pretty common with this tablet. Otherwise it's a super tablet and I use it constantly.

There's a new $99 Kindle Fire... If you're into that sort of thing.

I just picked up a used Nexus 7 (2013). Which charger did you buy, 923? Also, do you use case with the tablet?

Bump. Looking for recommendations on a cheapish Windows tablet that supports Microsoft Office, any thoughts?

RCA Viking Pro

I got one of these for my daughter as a halfway point between a toy and a computer (she's 10), and it is surprisingly capable. It is Android based, so Office is probably out. The interface is a bit iffy at times, and the screen itself is mediocre, but for the price, it is very useful. They also make a version that runs Windows 10 instead of Android, and that may be more of what you are looking for.

I had casino money burning a hole in my pocket last month & bought a FireHD8 from a airport vending machine. Think it was $79

I was just going to dick around with it some on the plane & probably be done with it, but my wife (who claims she's been asking for a new tablet) thought it was a present. So, I played that off because, uh, marriage.

She's loves it, though. She cracked her phone (not bad enough to warrant repair/upgrade... but I'm sure it's an annoyance) so she is doing the whole 2 device routine.

Fwiw, I don't think I'd gotten any value out of the Fire8HD because the S8+ is basically perfection.
