Sure, but we should probably rethink how long/permanent these records should be kept.. it'd be nice to bring the internet in line with our current paradigm regarding memories and permanence of certain information (ie they should fade over time/aren't perfect), especially since it's easy to find information online that's taken out of context. I'd be fine with advertisers holding data for 1-3 years even if that's what needs to happen to make the money necessary to run it all, but not forever.
Not to mention the propensity for coming to the wrong conclusions when analyzing big data. If you have enough data you can prove almost anything or draw whatever conclusion you want. More data is not always the answer, unfortunately.
