"The Atlantic Division: Memo to Wake Forest: The door is still open. Florida State, which considered by some to be a national title contender this season, has now taken the backseat to Clemson in the Atlantic Division standings. NC State has more players in the trainer’s room than it does the starting lineup, and Boston College started the season 0-3 for the first time since 1991. And the Terps? Well … "

Saturday is a big game for this reason. Get a win, and we're already a leg up on both State and BC.

Yep. Right now, the most realistic road is to upset FSU at home and lose to VT and at Clemson. That would put us at 6-2 with a tiebreaker over a likely 6-2 FSU. Clemson would just need to lose 3 of their other games against VT, BC, MD, UNC, Tech, and State. They play VT and Tech on the road.

Let's go Deacs. You have an opportunity laid out in front of you. Seize it.

1-0 in conference, make it 2-0. Then it's FSU that has to beat the team with a better record.

We win the next two and dreams can start shooting for above the clouds.

Need to beat a decent team before we start division title talk. So far we haven't even played one.

I like how she acts like Clemson has a 2-game lead over both Wake Forest and Maryland. They're all tied at the top :noidea:

And its not like there's a huge gap between them and the clearly talented FSU either

I'm just hoping we get a big win at BC on Saturday, then I'll start worrying about FSU and the Atlantic division race. Not condemning those who are already thinking about that stuff, just saying I want us to prove we've improved enough to go up to BC and beat an ACC rival on the road, that is more than beatable this year.

Start with Saturday. If we get a win there, we can start to think beyond that. Big game. Huge implications for the rest of the season (bowling, division race, etc.)

Yup...Saturday will tell us some things, but we cannot allow next Saturday against FSU to be like the Stanford game from last year.

Don't think that will happen, FSU this season isn't near as good offensively as last seasons Stanford team was, and the WF offense is light years ahead of where it was last season. FSU still isn't settled with a QB, which has been great for WF in the past (Xavier Lee and co). Lets get to work in Boston this saturday.

Anyway, not much similar between Stanford and FSU and particularly last years game at midnight with an angry pay back mode coach (Harbaugh) who was so incensed about the officiating in Winston that he jacked the start time even further.

That game was an asswhipping and it is over. No more perfect storms. As for fsu, they had trouble whipping us and the first half is indicative...their #1 draft choice at QB could barely manage 10 points in the first half and that was with our shitty offense giving them the ball and essentially asking the noles to score.

Two different teams and two different histories. We are going into that game to win it and there is no doubt about it. That is the mindset of the team. They are Not afraid of the noles and they better be ready for a big-hitting game.

We are getting way ahead of ourselves. We need to focus on Saturday. It is a make or break game for the Deacs. We have not done well in those kind of games since 2006. Now is the time for the Deacs to show they are light years ahead of last year.

The TEAM needs to focus on Saturday but the FANS can focus on any game we wish.

Wait, we're 1-0 in the conference and therefore have a chance of winning the division, but when we were 0-0 we were picked to finish last. Lazy stupid inconsistent blog journalism at its best. Wake has no chance of winning the division this year. None.
