Totally Unofficial 2023/24 Premier League Thread

Leicester City will stay down for their fourth epic collapse in 5 years

and even if they get up through the playoffs (they won't) they would then face a points deduction in the EPL

And so does Haji. 15 each this season. Looks like they'll be battling each other for that last playoff spot.

those penalties like Newcastle's second goal -- where a defender is trying to clear the ball and the other team swings a leg in front just before the kick -- are ridiculous

kinda what happened on the first Newcastle penalty too. Ant Gordon just jumped in front of coufal trying to clear it. Not as egregiously stupid as the second one though

the ones that occur in the furthest corner of the box are the most asinine

you get a PK for a guy trying to clear the ball 30 feet from the goal because he doesn't have eyes in the back of his head??

Spurs left themselves so exposed to the counter there and Chong finishes! 1-0 to Luton

Come on Luton. Need to drag Brentford and Everton back into the fun. Though Forest hasn't looked interested in staying up for awhile now.

No idea how Spurs didn't score there. Son hits both posts. Werners shot is charged down by a diving Kabore. And finally Sarrs shot saved on the line by Mengi. All within 5 seconds. Crazy stuff

tough win for Spurs. Thought Brennan Johnson was really good today coming on in the second half. He fits a super sub role well. I really enjoy this team but they are not a 4th/5th place team, IMO.
The Man Ciity/Arsenal/Liverpool run should expose them. Seriously in need of depth and expect to see them tire by year end with this style. Desperate need of another #9 and Central Defense depth. Regardless I certainly have optimism for the future under big Ang. Sarr is so fun to watch

Brentford completely outplaying United since the opening 10 or so minutes. So fortunate that Brentford finishing has been poor so far today but playing with fire

thats a good point for mid-table chelsea today... think with a few more players they might get into the Europa Conference? Cole Palmer looks like the real deal. Wouldn't be surprised if a top 6 team picks him up.
Might be enough to keep them up for another season.

Horrible performance from Man United today. So lucky to come away with a point even after scoring in the 95th min
