Traffic Ticket Question

My Wife received a following too closely ticket this am.

What is the best was to handle this? Her driving record is completely clean. The ticket is a 30 dollar fine and 187$ court costs. What is the best course of action to reduce that amount and/or get the points removed.

$187 in court costs is ridiculous, especially for a $30 fine, and even more so since most involve no actual court time (just processing a payment).

Call it a $200 fine and be done with it since that's what it is.
