Travel help - Aspen during X Games

We are headed out to Aspen next January - during the X games. We will be a family / group of about 10 and plan on skiing / boarding during the day and going to the X games at night.

Any suggestions on where to stay in Aspen? Do any of the mountains out there have ski-in/ski-out access? Which mountains should we ski / stay at? Anybody been to the Winter X games?
