Trump To End DACA

Trump would agree with anything you say to him if nobody else was around, it really is amazing.

then you would think some liberal with half a brain would just compliment him nonstop and then just get him to like nationalize healthcare or something.

A federal judge in California ordered the Trump administration on Tuesday to keep in place the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which protects undocumented immigrants who entered the country as children from deportation and allows them to work legally, while a lawsuit proceeds.

The order, signed by U.S. District Judge Williams Alsup, marks a major triumph for immigrant rights groups who have rallied around the program that benefits nearly 700,000 people.

The preliminary injunction on Trump’s cancellation of DACA requires the Department of Homeland Security “to maintain the DACA program on a nationwide basis on the same terms and conditions as were in effect before the rescission on September 5, 2017” ― including allowing those who already benefit from DACA to apply to renew their status.

The order does not, however, allow people who have never held DACA protections to apply as new applicants.

“Dreamers’ lives were thrown into chaos when the Trump administration tried to terminate the DACA program without obeying the law,” California Attorney General Xavier Becerra (D) said in a statement. “Today’s ruling is a huge step in the right direction.

Exclusive: Senators Reach Deal to Save Dreamers and Wall

To clarify on the title, a bipartisan group has come to a high-level deal. Whether the rest will get on board remains to be seen.

As is always the case with such high-stakes negotiations, the possibility of failure remains real. Flake’s working group—which includes Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Cory Gardner (R-CO)—was already facing resistance on Thursday from their fellow lawmakers, who suggested that Trump was not on board with the proposal.

Let's see what Flake got in return for his vote on the tax bill!

Sent back to Mexico's violence, Des Moines student dies within weeks

Manuel Antonio Cano Pacheco should have graduated high school in Des Moines last month. The oldest of four siblings should have walked across a stage in a cap and gown to become a proud symbol to his sister and brothers of the rewards of hard work and education.

Instead, Manuel died a brutal death alone in a foreign land, a symbol of gang supremacy in a country plagued by violent drug cartels. It happened three weeks after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement returned him to Mexico, a country he had left at age 3 when his parents brought him here without a visa.

The fact that America was the only home he has known made Manuel eligible to apply for and be granted DACA status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program initiated by former President Barack Obama. It exempted from deportation certain young people, referred to as DREAMERS, who were brought to the U.S. without papers as children.

This kid's DACA status was revoked because of a DUI, he was sent to a country he left at 3 years old, and he was murdered weeks later.
