And see what the Deacs are capable of becoming.

Northwestern has 8400 undergrads, is a "smart school" (with higher academic standards than Wake), and a terrible football history (2-9 bowl record) and a 90-year old stadium. They are in the Big 10, tougher than the ACC, and are in Illinois, a weak high school football area in the country for recruiting.

Pat Fitzgerald is 53-39. His teams play tough, aggressive football and they take risks. And they win games.

THIS is what Wake Forest football should aspire to become.

Screw that. Turn on the Baylor game. They have 500 yards with 7 minutes left in the 2nd quarter.

Not to mention some ugly-ass helmets.

Always wondered why people don't make comparisons like NW/Vandy more often

NW has also been awful for 95% of their program history. They've had a few good years now...so did Wake (06'-08'). They will never be a powerhouse, nor will we, but every 10 years should produce a few solid teams for programs like WF, NW, Vandy, etc..

No one should complain about the amount of red at Groves today. The Ohio State fans outnumber NW by 6 to 1 it appears.

With the exception that NW has been to five straight bowls and is starting this season 4-0 and play OSU on national television. Also have played in 10 bowls in the last 17 years.

Other than that, you're spot on!

Other than the 4 straight losing seasons for Wake. The last time that happened with NW was 1991-94

As for the poster who mentioned the OSU fans, they are vultures. Travel as well as Steelers fans or UNC basketball fans at the Joel

i know you didnt just compare NCSU fans to Ohio State fans.... come on mayne.

Pat Fitzgerald is 54-39 in eight seasons, and Northwestern has been to five straight bowls. They finished the year ranked #16 and are currently ranked #19.

Hate to agree with Stricks :p, but Northwestern has a good run of consistency going I'd like to see at Wake.
