Same here. Probably them changing the twitter.com vs. x.com functionality.
 
It's something to do with twitter API/loading for sure. It's actually been broken for about a month for me on firefox only though, so I see the issue has finally made its way to other browsers too.
 
Confirmed that twitter is just throwwing a 404 on the API that gets tweet info for embedding. TBD if this is a business decision or some other issue w/ their CDN or something.
