why would the ceo care, someone already had purchased his clothing at full price and donated it to goodwill

Because then their brand won't stand for anything, it will alienate their current market/audience, and future sales will be hurt.

The irony is that the original management and clientele of Abercrombie would've kicked the shit out of a guy like Mike Jeffries.

lol, sure

maybe this guy should take a picture of a homeless guywearing A&F and put it on a billboard

I hate that damned store so much. You can smell their location on fifth avenue a block away.

A&F deserved to get trolled and my first reaction was that this was funny. However I think there is a lot of truth in this article, which basically makes the point that when you make fun of a corporation by handing out their stuff to a certain group, you're also making fun of that group. http://www.hughlh.com/abercrombie-and-fitch-and-homelessness/

Food for thought.

honestly, this was my thought as well.
i understand the sentiment of what the group/movement is trying to do... but it's also kind of inadvertently mean to homeless people, at least to target them in this way for this reason.
I feel like the best thing to do is get high schoolers on board with just boycotting the place; unfortunately, there are probably enough skinny, popular kids who will see his message and feel even more inflated, like they have the 'right' to shop there and will continue to do so with 'it was made for people like us' as their reasoning.

I really don't get this whole thing. There are lots of companies that make products that aren't made for me. BFD. I just shop somewhere else. I get that the CEO may be a complete asshat, but I don't see anything wrong with A&F designing and marketing their products for a specific demographic.

I'm sure the homeless people's self esteem gets shattered when someone gives them free clothes in good condition just so someone can make a point about a corporation's marketing strategy.

aaaand since when is it not cool to make fun of Abercrombie OR the homeless?

Food for thought.

I've heard of some of this A&F stuff in the past but never followed it because I don't buy their clothes. Has there been a lot of outrage by the fat, not cool people because they don't sell XXL stuff or something? Or is this a case of someone feeling outraged on behalf of the fat, not cool people because he thinks they should be offended?
