1) end of regulation in huddle designing last play - after play has been designed, multiple Wake players bump white’s chest, rub is head, and tap him on the rear. Doesn’t this give the other team a clear idea of what the play is? It sure did to the announcer

2) Don’t understand how the players collided for rebound that went out of bounce with UVA clearly not intending to rebound.

3) Why call a time out when we had a fast break with less than 10 seconds left in the game. It would seem UVA is very good in playing defense especially when you let them set up their half court defense.

4) If Manning was going to call a time out why not wait until the ball crosses the half court line so we could inbound the ball on their side of the court instead of now having to run a play with 8 seconds left from our side of the court. Mannings’s strategy of forcing us to inbound the ball on the Wake side of the court with 8 seconds left against a set up defense seems less likely to score than allowing them to run the break after the rebound.

Manning is a moron, idiot, and terrible coach. Why would anyone be surprised.

Good observations, especially the first and last.

It’s hard to get too mad about an error of aggression, which was what happened when Mucius knocked the ball away from Sarr, but that was a pretty brutal play given UVA only had one guy lined up to rebound.

I posted this on the game thread and am still scratching my head....

Can someone explain why you throw the ball inbounds deep in your own backcourt (when UVA was not contesting the inbounds pass!) with only 8 seconds left!?!? Anyone care to address that?

You just forced our guard to burn 3-4 seconds to dribble 40 feet uncontested. Unbelievable!

Behave, y'all. He's not a moron. He's not an idiot.
He is, regrettably, not a good P-5 level basketball coach.

This post put more thought into the end of the game than our head coach did. Good job.

I understand where you’re coming from but tell me the last truly insightful comment you’ve heard him make about the game of basketball. If he’s got the smarts he has had plenty of time and opportunity to show it.

One too few paint touches.... two too few free throws to get us to a 2nd OT. :(

And there was that point they took away from us in the second half, just think that would have given us the win instead of overtime

We never seemed to recognize they were trapping the ballhandler.

And why would you let one of the best half court defenses set up?

White traveled like two times before his heave ho and the refs missed it

Manning is so bad.

DM put too much though into it. That's the problem. Good coaches take something ok and make it better. He takes something ok and makes it worse. If he had just rolled the ball out and said "go figure something out", more than likely they would have at least got a shot off.

Actually it will be April before we can get rid of Danny. That is when his contract starts and this will save us a year. Those wanting him gone the day after ACC tourney will be going crazy.

Nah. Even if that is true, if he knows he’s getting fired, he’s not going to hold on to the job for an extra two weeks just to be a dick. They’d figure something out.

The team played better without ball hog Childress. A look at what our next coach will have as a team.

this was a god awful game to watch. Neath and Johnson were not good at all handling PG duties. Neath can not shoot and both him and Johnson turn it over too much aside from being out of control. They were a combined 4 for 15 from the field and had 8 turnovers and 2 assists. Pick your poison.
