Coach Hoover's team lost to State by 15 in W-S, but today they hit eight threes and stopped the #15 team 89-77. Big win.

yes 15-12 and 6-8 in the league. almost the same record as the men but give the women credit they have the signature win.

Yet the women were at #78 in the RPI prior to the game.

Over/Under on when Yow will fire the Wuffpeck women's coach?

Big upset win on the road, Jen and the girls need to teach Danny and the boys how to do that.

She seems to be a good coach. The teams get better and she has recruited high ranked talent.

Just hard to deal with multiple injuries every year that decimates your depth and rotation.

I swear this program is cursed.

two good players back from injury are helping - Simmons and Atkinson

Great win!

For those who are in the know, what realistic shot do the Lady Deacs have to make the NCAAs this year? It's painful to see that banner in the LJVMC showing our only NCAA bid way back in 1989 (when Jen Hoover was on the team).

Skyrocketed to #59 after the win!

By no means an expert on where the women's team stands re: getting in but I'd imagine if they can beat 'cuse or Loui in the last two games things could start getting interesting. ACC has 7 really good teams -- all ranked -- so maybe Wake would get rewarded for going up against that competition.

Likely 8/9 game vs. UVa in the women's tourney would be big as well

We can never seem to avoid the ratings killer OOC games that hurt our chances. Losing at Seton Hall and at home against Radford is really hurting our rating. Put those two in the wins column and we are safely in the top 50 right now.

Team always seems to be fighting the injury bug. Would like for them to have some good luck

Women's bracketologer (yes, there is such a thing) Charlie Creme doesn't have us among the first 8 out.

UVa jumped from not on the first 8 out to first out after beating FSU last week, doe, so if we can pick up a quality win either @ 'cuse or vs. Loui this week that might move us into the mix

15-12

Per Sagarin: 48th hardest schedule in the country, 0-5 against top 25 teams, 1-8 against top 50 teams, and ranked 79th. For comparison UVA is 18-9 and 31st.

Losses to Seton Hall and Radford - both outside the top 150 in Sagarin.

Gonna say (without any knowledge of the women's bubble at all) we're probably not very close to the bubble at all and with games left against two top 25 teams, without winning both are probably going to be eliminated.

On the flip side, who really cares if you make the women's tournament or not since we can all just watch Connecticut win their billionth game in a row when they raise the banner again.

As tough a history as our women's program has, WF has performed remarkably well in the ACC tournament over recent years (WF has won its first game something like 6 or 7 years in a row, and has won 2 tourney games a few times during that stretch). With only two conference games left, looks like WF will play in the 8-9 game against UVA who is beatable (WF lost in OT at UVA this season), but if WF won that game, WF would likely play ND, who may not be beatable. Long story short, WF's next two games are against NCAA tourney caliber teams (@Cuse and L'ville); so, at a minimum, WF would need to win at least one of those, and its ACC tourney opener to have a long shot chance at a bid.
