Wake Forest grad Alex Koblan (Class of 2013) competed in a bartending competition for the northeast region this week in Boston. The competition is called Speedrack and is a charity event hosted by women for women with all proceeds going to breast cancer research.

Alex placed in the top 8 (of 32) in preliminaries which consisted of making four requested drinks as quickly as possible. The top 8 all came in under 50 seconds in prelims. Unfortunately Alex did not win the overall competition - with the winner going to nationals in Chicago. However each region also has one wildcard spot which is determined by an online poll (as everything seems to be these days)
