Wallace Wade Stadium To Be Renovated

We may expect the Kaaba at Mecca to be renovated before anyone dares to tamper with Holy Cameron.

Actually, I was stunned to learn there's some extremist sect of Islam that wants exactly that. More accurately, they want the Kaaba destroyed. Amazing shit.

Any renovation that does not involve removing the track is a waste of time. It will always look like a high school multipurpose field as long as there is a track separating the stands from the field.

Got to be one of the last FBS stadiums with a track around it. Washington and Kansas have removed theirs, can't think of any more right off hand.

Any word on the visiting team locker rooms? The last couple times we were there, we had to congregate on the practice field outside the stadium.

Apparently University of Buffalo and Eastern Michigan have tracks. Duke will have the nicest of those three.

They'd be stupid to change that, just think of the advantage they get by having the visiting team walk a mile from the visiting locker rooms to the field.

App State

Speaking of APP, did anyone check in on the APP/Georgia Southern game last night? Not only is GSU a pretty good football team for year 1 in FBS (blew out APP, 1 pt. loss to NCSU and 4 pt. loss to GA. Tech), but they have a very nice stadium and game day atmosphere. Their stadium looks much larger than 25K seating capacity on t.v., I guess b/c it is double-decked to keep the fans closer to the field.

All Duke has to do is report an ISIS terror cell operating underneath the 50 yard line at Wallace Wade and the demolition would be free...

Good idea. Furthermore, Uncle Sam has traditionally been very generous with helping to rebuild what it has bombed. So, there's also that.

Silly question.... When RW retires, of course.....

Well, what's he waiting for? Nathan needs to belly up the bar here and show some balls. Otherwise, the dismantling of Wake's revenue sports will inevitably be a part of his legacy, just as it will surely be a part of Ron Wellman's.

Capacity will drop for 2015, then up to 40k upon completion for 2016. Apart of a massive facilites upgrade they are doing. Basically every sport getting spruced up digs. Cameron will have an addition taking up the Cameron Circle area. Will include some suites on the 2nd floor looking into Cameron. This work begins post football. Goal was for 250 million raised and they expect to pass that soon with 2.5 years left in the campaign. Scary, but they will have some fantastic facilities. current football buildings are phenomenal.

Nathan is only vaguely aware that Wake has revenue sports. He's too busy watching ND on tv.
