Waste Management Phoenix Open

Yeah. I think it's good for golf.

It works great for an early season event and being on Super Bowl Sunday which makes the whole weekend pretty "festive", but would not want to see that type of set-up and behavior expand to other events. But yeah, a unique and fun addition to the schedule .

Bill Haas shoots 65 (-6). Hope he can generate some momentum after his top-10 last week.

Forgot about Goydos. His post round presser must have been great - probably only deadpanned derogatory aspects of his round.

It was hilarious because he shot 59 in the first round and only had a one shot lead over Steve Stricker. Goydos definitely got a laugh out of that.

love that clip.

notice tiger whiffing on the high five to the playing partner, something he'd later do on that chip in on 16 at the Masters

Bet he won't whiff later tonight with his ski lady Lindsey Vonn

Smooth little 30 by Bill Haas on the front 9.

Too bad Bill is so erratic with the putter cuz he has a gorgeous swing and some seriously good touch around the greens. If he could ever become a Top 50 putter, he could win 15-20 times on Tour. However, that may never happen. We'll see.

I agree. Also, it must be really difficult playing with Phil in this particular tournament. Fowler and Dufner are pretty fair golfers and neither made the cut after playing with Phil the first 2 rounds. Not Michelson's fault, it just that the crowds are huge and boisterous and are responsive to every good shot he hits.

Indeed, at TPC Scottsdale and in the Az desert since '91, this has been Lefty's house. Playing with him when he's on definitely brings the Tiger factor. Perhaps not intimidation like Tiger, but the boisterous crowd can definitely be a distraction. Fun to watch when Phil the Thrill is on. Too bad he likes to blend Arnie's flair for the erratic with Greg Norman's puzzling habit of puckering when the chips are down. We'll see which Phil shows up tomorrow.
