WFU Hoops: '22-'23 Roster Construction Thread: +Ituka/Carr/Appleby/Bradford

Hard PASS on a guard from Davidson that just shoots 3s. What is he at the next level? Lacks lateral quickness. His college system makes him difficult to evaluate. Average athleticism. Not sure he’ll even start over Acie Law. Give me Jonny Flynn.

Good reference. Back then they didn't want him. Then he got hot, all on him.

I laughed.

laravia hype is really starting to build, especially with his birthdate issue getting resolved (he’s actually young for his class born in november ‘01, not the other way around).

Got to put Jake in the "expect him to head to the NBA and would be pleasantly surprised if he returns category. FWIW, think Jake will have a solid NBA career.

Just heard the name Jao Ituka in CamLemons' latest pod. Big time scorer for a freshman at Marist -- 15 points in 22 mpg. Not many 3s (still shot >40%) and not many assists, but got it done shooting almost 53% from the field.

Jao Ituka

From Maryland, one of the rare elite HS basketball players in the DC area that wasn't snapped up by a private school. Because he wasn't in the private school leagues, because he wasn't in a big-time AAU program and because of COVID, he fell through the cracks in HS, played at Gaithersburg HS, and was a mid-major recruit. As a freshman, he led Iona in scoring - 15 ppg. Shot 41% from 3; 54% from 2. 6-1 196, Ituka is strong. 4th in the nation in rate of fouls drawn. He goes to the rack.

Only 4 people on these boards can legitimately call the season a dissapointment. The 4 who voted "21 or more wins" in the OG Boards poll at the beginning of the season. 93% of people on these boards had the expectation of an NIT season or worse. We met or exceeded the expectation of 93% of people on these boards. Of course we are all dissapointed in how the season ended... but the season can't reasonably be called a disappointment.

Hard disagree. Expectations justifiably changed when we learned how good Jake and Williams were, when Walton stayed healthy, and when Monsanto came back. That team losing @Clemson and to BC was complete trash and the season was a huge disappointment.

Geez that’s a terrible post mortem take.
