I absolutely love pat conroy.

I definitely know my favorite short story and my favorite writer but I’m pretty hard pressed to pick a favorite novel.

This is a hard one...

Best known book: Blood Meridian*
Best obscure book: South of the Big Four**
Book that made me realize reading was fun: Star Man's Son (a/k/a 2250 A.D)

* "oh my god, said the sergeant."
** mainly because of the way the dialog seemed to mirror so many conversations I overheard as a kid, and then later had as an adult.

my current favorite is Gingerbread by Helen Oyeyemi, although it's probably her least accessible novel (that I've read) due to the stream of consciousness style. but if you're into that kinda weird stuff, it's incredible.

I loved Blood Meridian but I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to myself I like Lonesone Dove better.
