I'm cooking dinner and don't really have anything in the house. Thus, I will have to go to the grocery store to pick stuff up to cook.

I'm trying to cook a good dinner for my wife, but nothing stuffy. We're also getting pumped for the Dallas/Portland game, so if dinner can work that theme into it, that would work too.

Anyone have go-to meals that are tasty and interesting that I should consider?

Are you asking what your wife should cook?

I'd say some seared tuna on a bed of wilted spinach.

Sauteed Spinach with Garlic or Asparagus
Bread with Balsamic vinegar to dip

Meat Choices
Peppered Pork Tenderloin (grill or bake) topped with a Black Cherry Sauce (basically heat up black cherry preserves with a red wine to reduce)
Baked Chicken Breast topped with brie cheese and apricot preserves

Rosemary & Garlic Pork Roast (cheaper than tenderloin).
Cinnamon & Sage sauteed apples.
Crushed Red Potatoes with parsley and chive
Watercress salad with raspberry and shallot vinaigrette

Klondike bars.

This meal clearly calls for ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Consider yourself banned from further food related threads.

We went with a "bar food" theme -- had buffalo wings, fried green beans, and a salad. And a Mavs win made it a damn good night.
