Winston-Salem police are investigating after a man died last week following a fight a week earlier.
David Michael Jensen, 44, of 3034 Greenway Ave., died Aug. 17, police said.
Jensen was involved in a fight Aug. 10 at the intersection of 30th Street and Greenway Avenue about 2 p.m., and officers were called to the incident, police said.
Jensen and two other men were drinking and, while the group was gathered, and fight broke out between Jensen and one of the men, police said. Jensen was punched once, then fell on the road and hit his head.
Jensen was taken to the hospital but never regained consciousness.
Detectives are investigating but said so far it appears Jensen was the aggressor in the altercation that injured him. His death has been deemed a homicide but there is no evidence to support criminal charges at this time, police said.
Police ask anyone who was near the intersection of 30th Street and Greenway Avenue on Aug. 10 to call 336-773-7700 or Crime Stoppers at 336-727-2800.
