2016-17 Wake Forest Basketball Season

The Open Practice was a nice opportunity to see how much progress last year's guys have made and how the frosh can help plug our gaps. JC is a beast, very mobile with touch. Doral was in much better shape but still not 30 mins/game. RWash can fill some minutes but Donovan has a ways to go. BChill will be a steady guard in many spots. Shooting Drills were a joy to watch as opposed to last years painfull example from beyond the arc. SJM did gain some targeted comments from DM but seemed eager to adapt and showed good touch on several internal passes.

Although I don't disagree, that would be a very weak rebounding and defensive team. It could lead to JC getting into quick foul trouble.

I think mcclinton will start at the 3 for boards and because dino can pop the 3. First subs in
in are Arians and moore. And of course wilbekin.

If McClinton plays as as much as 12 mpg, we are in trouble. Arians will start at SF/Wing.

People forget that before he went to Montverde, Doral was ranked in the Top 35. He's got good hands, a nice little J out to 12' and can be a freakish athlete. If the light comes on, he could become an absolute beast.

Disagree strongly. They each have strengths and weaknesses in ACC games and we will need both. I would feel better getting Arians out at the SF spot 4 or 5 minutes into a game. Don't want to see him on most of the starting ACC SFs on defense. Put him out there after the opposing SF is a little winded and then keep him out there on the backup.

McClinton looked good in the Bahamas and expect him to exceed the general modest expectations of the fan base - based on the consistency he showed and on the strong secondary and tertiary cuts he made within the offense. He didn't use to make those cuts and if he can continue to hustle on offense that way, he is going to get junk points and a few offensive boards. He's also an above average defensive rebounder from the SF spot and has adequate to good athleticism for the ACC at that position.

If you watch tapes from last year, only Hudson was out of position more on D than McClinton.

Plus by having him on the court, we have to start dinos or be way out of balance in scoring.

Arians can really shoot it. McClinton has added muscle. Think Arians is the starter.

BTW, has Hudson surfaced on another basketball program?

He cannot shoot--at all.
