Outside of short-term money, what does Shaka have to gain by coming to Wake Forest. He is better situated for success over the next 2-3 seasons at VCU than Wake. Over the next 2-3 years one of the high, high-profile jobs will likely come open. Having a few subpar years at Wake could hurt has chances of landing of those jobs. He's playing it safe, essentially.

Lack of Marshall or Howland consideration confuses and annoys me. Go out swinging RW.
 
I wonder if Manning will smile when he thinks about how he petrified a fan base( wake) with the possiblity of his hire and was immediately consequently gifted with a raise and an extension.

Shaka talks going nowhere does seem to indicate its not money holding up the deal. DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. Honestly he won't fail.

It's saying no...it's about stating for years what's wrong with Wake and why it won't and can't succeed.

Very few people have ever been offered $3M/year to move to W-S. Even fewer were in their mid-30s and offered a big step up from where they were. As many others have also shown, jobs on this level aren't going to be available for the next several years.

Many here (like you) had decided long ago that he and others wouldn't even listen. He has. Right now, I'd wager it's more about Wellman that WF.

Kenny Beck had nothing new to report. Said Manning was not on campus today or yesterday, and "a hire is not imminent"
 
Yes, Larry Brown finessed Manning away from the NC schools. Not like it had not been done before or since. Even Coach K pulled that move (finding a job for a parent).
