Would your perception of Lebron improve if he returned to Cleveland?

Would your perception of LBJ improve is he returned to CLE?

Pheonix won 48 games last year in the west. Cleveland won 33 in the east.

Yeah, but now Cleveland has a rising star in Kyrie at the point and a potential star in Wiggins and a few other not bad pieces like Varejao. The problem with Cleveland as I see it, is you might need a couple of years to sift the wheat from the chaff of that locker room and for Wiggins to begin realizing his potential. Does LBJ wanna wait 2-3 years for them to be truly competitive for a title?

I never blamed him for leaving Cleveland the first time...they didn't put jackshit around him and he wanted to win championships. The Decision was super douchey, and the way he handled the whole thing. And his bandwagon fans (especially in Charlotte) are the fucking worst. But if he went back to Cleveland to try to win them a championship, it would offset The Decision for me. But his asshole fans will still be around, so it'll be hard to actually root for him.

It wouldn't equate to total redemption, but it's a step in the right direction.

There's just something about Lebron James that's hard to root for. It makes it much more damning when he does something awful like the announcement, and takes something away from him doing something cool like going back to play for his home town.

If LeBron went to Cleveland I wouldn't root for him, but I wouldn't actively root against him the way I do now.

Agreed. And playing for his home town would be a better move if he hadn't been drafted there and left there in the first place.

I did gain more respect for him taking less money to play and win with his friends. ESPN and The Decision took away from how smart of a move that was by making it seem more emotional.

I'll go back on what I said at the beginning. I'd probably like him a little bit more but still root against him. I've got plenty of Heat hate going back to the expansion days.

He's not getting Riles to fly to Vegas just to tell him he's going to Cleveland.

I agree with your entire post except for the last sentence. The same guy who broke up with his hometown team on TV in the fiasco that was the Decision is quite capabable of having Riley fly out to Vegas for in his own mind what amounts to a courtesy meeting.

I want LBJ to go back to Cleveland just so ESPN's two biggest darlings - LeBron and Manziel - will be in the same shitty city on losing teams

Also, I really want LeBron to go ahead and sign a contract with whatever team he's going to so ESPN's LEBRON-WATCH will end

ESPN just reminded me of "not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven...." The guy is a Grade A douche that REALLY wants people to like him, but just doesn't know how to make it happen.

He could start by keeping his mouth shut.

His main problem is that he wants everyone to like him but that's just not how the world works.

it's amazing to me how much people hate on him for the decision when espn approached him about doing it and he did it to raise money for charity. just jealous loosers who also hate on him for taking less money to win when if someone else does it they applaud.

The kids/Boys and Girls Club were moral deodorant. (stolen phrase, but perfect description). And it wasn't ESPN's idea. It was Maverick Carter's and William Morris's

Yeah. He had an asset and cashed it in. It was managed poorly though.

The guy gave up a couple of million dollars in annual salary from the Heat when he's making over $60 million a year including endorsements. And in so doing, he helped create an imbalance of talent in the NBA in a big market with a big name GM. I think it really sucks and it's more pronounced than what Tim Duncan does as he's not the clear #1 player in the NBA or even on his team. James is no martyr.

LBJ isn't going to be on a losing team if he goes to Cleveland.

My perception of Lebron would change IMMENSELY if he went to Philly.
