Totally Unofficial 2015/16 Premier League Thread (NWT)

First match in over a year tomorrow!

9:00 AM -- big run and pullups to get ready for the day
10:30 AM -- King's Cross train to Stevenage (pasties on the way)
11:00 AM -- proper buildup at the pubs near the ground
2:30 PM -- put the bets on at the ground bookie
3:00 PM -- opening match of preseason. everybody will play 45 minutes, and I'll see all of the new signings from the away supporters section.

Wait, there are pasties involved?
Up the Hammers!

@MailSport: Luis Suarez is gone 'but we will be stronger for the coming season,' says Brendan Rodgers"

Suarez out. Lambert in.

I mean, anything is possible, I guess. God speed, Brendan.

I heard about the proposed change. I like the move. The old crest looked cluttered with the castle. The crossed hammers are really the most important thing to have (see Gary Oldman). Cleaner, easier to look at.

One of the Davids wanted London to me their correct?

Not sure about who was pushing the "London". The argument I've heard for its inclusion was that it gives the club a more international profile, as the city is one of the major things that London clubs can sell to foreign players -- i.e. not like those other shithole industrial cities in the North.

Also, the video was awesome; I hope it gets posted somewhere eventually.

What bets are you looking to make n on a preseason warm up?

Haha, god knows, but it is part of a proper build up. The betting shops won't have anything on, but the bookies at the ground will have something. Probably something silly like first to score or 3-1 to us. Just part of the fun.

Wait, there are pasties involved?
Up the Hammers!

Not those kind of pasties...
NoVa, remember those baller pasties we baked for the QUAD OLYMPICS??

What the crests will look like on merchandise (i.e. no 3-D stuff):

And the video! Awesome!:

Manchester United announce 55,000 season tickets sell out in record time. It is the earliest since the stadium was expanded to 76k in 2006.

Question for all you folks that follow the EPL, I have been following pretty religiously for the better of the decade without ever declaring my allegiance to any one team. Instead I just had a few players I enjoyed watching. The time has come for me to decide on a squad.

So my question for you all, who should I follow? In order to make this as unbiased as possible it would be a great for people to make a case for a team other than their own. (like dv7 is there a second team you enjoy besides the reds and why?) The only team I refuse to follow is Liverpool for various reasons.

Crystal Palace. What are the various reasons for not supporting the best team in all the land?

Southampton or Swansea

Swansea has been my defacto team for the last few seasons. I liked Michu because he and I have similar playstyles. I like Bony too. Do they have any chance for sustained success? I would rather not follow someone that could be relegated in the next few years (nearly impossible to watch their games).

Same thing with Southampton, didnt they get gutted this past season with Lambert and Llalana leaving?

So you want us to pick a team within the top 7 other than Liverpool, that isn't our favorite? You're going to get 32 votes for Everton.

I cant take following CP.. too many of my teams disappoint me as it is.

Most important reason for not following Pool is that I have been hating on them for the last few years because I have a couple of buddies who are fans. They were the impetus to me picking a squad because they were tired of not being able to dish it back at me. Also I loathed Suarez even before his most recent incident and despite his transfer it permeated the rest of the squad. I do enjoy sterling though.

No, I guess I just dont want to follow a team that looks to be in a relegation battle for the next few years

Relegation is actually a lot cooler than people'd like you to think it is. Even DV7 has never experienced a season in the FIZZY POP!

Also, the supporters club yesterday voted whether or not they'd be in favor of a change to this crest. I voted that I was ambivalent, but I like it more and more. Results are still pending.

I really like this. It's clean and uncluttered, which is a nice change from other badges. Win.
