Republicans for POTUS, 2016 Edition

I finally found the video of Trump actually being asked and answering questions-- questions that clearly are about immigration policy. Somehow this has morphed into a Nazi registry. Of course we already have a de facto Muslim database called NSEERS, but nobody seems to want to consider that. I don't see him talking about registering US citizens, but that's what the outrage seems confined to.

He goes bipolar once in a while and deletes most of his posts. I don't know how he does and how he decides which ones to keep, but it's definitely one of the oddest reoccurring events on this board.

Yes, who could forget you ranting and raving about Townie and his father being liars because there was a honest miscommunication between him and his father over the timing of an event in a story he told from the 1960s before Townie was born and then you turning around on the exact same thread and conflating the details of two Virginia at Wake basketball games from the early 80s.

If I was you, I would probably never bring that up again and hope everybody else forgets about it.

Poor Donald is being unjustly victimized. Terrible how people failed to understand his caring thoughtful affirming words about McCain, Megyn Kelly, Fiorina, and Carson. A pity that such a humble private citizen who never seeks out attention is being violated and exploited by prying media.
 
The other important point of course is that NSEERS is nowhere close to a "de facto Muslim database" and it's pretty fucking offensive for ELC to even suggest it is.

Reading up on it, it sure as heck seems like a database used to track Muslims in this country. What is offensive about ELC suggesting that?

You should be more offended by your blind stupidity because it is pretty dumb for you to think it isn't. 25 countries on that list. 24 are Muslim countries and the 25th is a country that doesn't even have emigrants to the US. Yeah, the US government can say, "Hey, we're requiring everybody from those countries to register, not just Muslims," which is how they get around the criticism from people who are dumb enough to wonder why we may want to actually profile Muslims. But it is a de facto database on Muslim immigrants. That is its purpose. No, it doesn't catch all of them, but it targets Muslim countries with serious terrorism issues for a reason.

Trump says a lot of stupid shit, but in this case both he and the people criticizing him need to get informed. We already have one and its effectiveness as a counter-terrorism tool is questionable at best.

It's not a question of whether he deserves it on account of the plenty of other retarded things that he has said. It's a question of whether he deserves it for this particular issue. The reporter who started the story clearly has his own agenda or wants to make a name for himself. It's a pretty good example of why people don't trust the media. Ask a question, get an answer about immigration, and somehow that becomes advocacy for registering all US (the implication being US citizen) Muslims. All the arrogance of Trump that people hate and that I mostly hate is perfect in his "You tell me" retort to the idiotic question about Nazi Germany. Stupid reporters with stupid questions don't deserve an answer, even a stupid one.

Why didn't he just say "No, we're not going to make a database and make all Muslims register. But we will consider things like X, Y, Z"

Just because a reporter asks a question doesn't mean he has to give a vague non-answer that lets the reporter say "well, he must be all for a registration requirement then"

Because Trump's entire campaign is built on not giving details.
 
Jeb and Ted Cruz have gone after Trump for his response. Surprised that Cruz would go after Trump, but Cruz must think that Carson is done and Trump is his last obstacle. Can't stand either, but would like to see Trump beat the crap out of Cruz.

Get that Palin was from Alaska and had never been on a major stage before, but Trump's been a NYC celebrity for 30 years. His lame excuses for saying stupid shit are hilarious. Claims he likes Carson, says he has "the pathological disease, and compares that to being a pedophile. Deserves to get cracked for most of the stuff he says and interesting to see former Trump slappys piling on too.
