I managed to snag a table at the OG for lunch today (!!!! I know right?!) and goodness it was the worst service I've had in a really long time. How lucky our server was that the managers encourage being high, slow, and dumb at the workplace. He sure is a lucky boy to have a job at such a hopping establishment. I'm lucky too that I was able to visit that restaurant even if it took 40 minutes to get a bowl of !^&#$ salad. Thankfully the conference call I missed most of due to his special serving style wasn't an important one.

did zqglass finally get fired from macaroni grill?

I am going to be in anchorage for one day Thursday. Anything I shouldn't miss?

I haven't been in an OG in about 6 or 7 years... Man I hate that place. I took a girl there wayyy back in HS for a date (big spender!) and I got a pork chop that was served cold. Not, like, room temperature, but as if it had been refrigerated.

My parents are all about OG, though. My dad will sit there for literally an hour just eating the endless salad if you let him. It's terrible.

i fuckin begged my parents to take me to macaroni grill as a kid

i liked that you could dip the bread in the olive oil and cracked pepper - thought it was a super baller move and that it was a very fancy restaurant because of it

Macaroni Grill in Durham was my go to date spot when I dated a chick at UNC. She defs thought we were fancy.

we used to go to this Italian restaurant when I was a kid and they had olive oil with parm and rosemary and would bring it to the table in a little cup flipped upside down on a plate so when they lifted the cup it would all flow out. I thought that was the coolest thing.

i was also a big fan of restaurants like darryl's where you ate peanuts and threw the shells on the ground

I think I've only ever gone to GC for dinner like once (and I believe it was on a softball or field hockey trip in HS with the team when we were out of town for a tournament). But we used to beg our parents like crazy to go to the breakfast buffet on the weekends.

Probably much happier before you were cool.

it was a real special night when we hit up Ryan's buffet. usually when my dad was out of town. mac and cheese, tacos with nacho cheese sauce, chicken fingers, tater tots, and do it yourself soft serve sundaes? sign me the fuck up.

Next time you're in Winston (or she's in Boston) you and RTQ should get together for an OG date. Sounds like a delightful place. And limitless salad? We all know how frugral RTQ can be.

actually i'm supposed to go to a Hanukkah (chanakah?) party tonight for dinner. not sure what i'm bringing... hopefully world market pulls through for me since i have no time to make anything.
