He played at the 40 Watt in Athens a couple years ago and I made the 3 hour drive over to Georgia to see him. I spoke to him after the show and he told me that he'd stopped in my town for lunch at Chipotle earlier that afternoon on his way from New Orleans. I suggested that next time he should just play a show in my town. Worth the trip though.

I am pretty sure that the Silver Jews played a show at that same UU church about 10 years ago.
 
they get stellar acts in there, arcade fire played there

saw rural alberta advantage there too

they're not doing shows in the basement anymore, it's all in the sanctuary now

RAA put on a great show. The drummer is fucking amazing.
 
AmericaFest in Nashville next week is pretty sweet. $60 wristband gets you in to about 50 shows. John Prine, Nitty Gritty Band, Dwight Yoakam, Shovels and Rope, and tons more Im unfamiliar with. Should be a fun time hopping around to shows all week.

show was good

some real fun tunes and some snoozers but the band was legit

opener, alex cameron, was hilarious in a bad, coked out 80s-y way

New Zeppelin BBC Complete Sessions album came out - new recordings and newly remastered by Paige. It's reeeeally good.

I'm way late to the party but can we talk about how awesome Wolf Parade was at Hopscotch last weekend? I really thought I'd never see them. It was badass.
