Wake Forest Football / Military Bowl Thread

We are arguing semantics. He did a good job of going through his progressions (which I included in my original post). He did get it out a little quicker than I thought, and it was a good decision by Kearns, but Wade did most of the work on that play. I mean he threw it behind the line and it went for 55 yards. I'm glad it worked out.

Of course we're talking about the same play. Kearns pump faked to Wade, went through his progressions, and came back to hit Wade in the flat with a timely, quick pass. Wolford doesn't go through his progressions quickly enough or put enough velocity on the ball to give Wade the time to make that play. Decent chance Wolford turtles or scrambles there as Kearns was facing pressure.

LOL at characterizing a QB quickly going through his progressions as "looked downfield for like 2-3 seconds."

See the play here at 1:25:00. Colburn's 22 yard run is the play before.

I still can't get over how beautiful that rollout pass to Serigne was. Darted through two defenders, hit him square in the hands, while on the move. Can't believe Serigne dropped it.

The ball goes out any slower and it's a short gain. The QB puts players in the position to make plays.

I don't think Cam expected the ball to get there.

I've actually kind of thought about this before - that our receivers are used to a very subpar quarterback so if playing with a good one would be an adjustment. I don't have a stat on it but I'm pretty sure at lest 3-4 of Wolford's long passes this year were under thrown and the receiver had to come back to get it (the corner/safety wasn't expecting such a terrible throw so they didn't adjust like our receiver did). Obviously we'd be better with a good quarterback but I wonder if playing with a bad one has affected our receivers abilities negatively.

Man, was that redzone possession frustrating. The play-calling was good but Serigne and Wade could not come down with catches. Kearns could have made a better throw to Wade but that has to be caught. Both were not ready for the zip on the throws.

Sorry if I missed this, but is Hinton absolutely done for the season? What was the latest with his injury, it kept sounding like he was going to be back the next week and it never happened. Is there any chance he would be available for the bowl game?

He is redshirting (medical) this year and will not be available for the bowl game.

Hinton won't play. He aggravated the injury and will pursue an extra year of eligibility.

Doesn't seem like it. Clawson announced before the L'ville game that Hinton would likely sit for the rest of the year, and that Hinton would likely ask the for a medical waiver which would allow Hinton to count the 2016 as a redshirt season (the NCAA wouldn't consider the waiver until after Hinton's 4th year in college, but to submit it, he can't play again this season).

FWIW, WF was banged up at the end of the year. The month break should help a lot of guys get healthy.

Thanks y'all. I remember when he aggravated the injury but I didn't see that he was applying for a medical redshirt. Probably the best move given the scenario.

How does our athletic department not have the packages/event schedule up yet?

I think Temple drew a shitty opponent.
So do they for the most part:

AAC champ deserves better
In essence, the worst qualified ACC team vs the American Champion.
That sucks. We deserve a better tie in as conference champs. Wake Forest BLOWS
The whole situation makes me sick.
Wake Forest 7- Tulane 3

Temple 31- Tulane 0

Wake sucks. Blow them the hell out.
