2017 Football Recruiting

Wake coaches are in New Jersey for an in-home visit this evening.

Spoke with Ja'Sir and got a couple quotes from him on the premium site. He told me his friends call him "Ja" or "Showtime."

I feel like this is an expression used a lot in Jamaica.

Waiter: Would you like a cup of tea ma'am
Woman: Ja, Sir, but make it a spleef instead.

One of Wake's CB targets - OJ Tucker - decommitted from Georgia Tech today. He still plans to visit there in January though.

Cornerback continues to be the open spot that is the busiest with respect to 2017 recruiting.

Vandy commit Adam Sparks took an official visit to Wake Forest last weekend. He was officially 6'0/163 last spring. Had a blazing 3.95 shuttle and a 42-inch vertical.

I posted earlier about OJ Tucker decommitting from GT and scheduling official visits with Maryland, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech.

But the most often discussed recruit will probably continue to be Ja'Sir Taylor given that he is a current Temple commit. Adds intrigue to the bowl game.

All of the activity at cornerback has me wondering if there is any chance that the staff takes two. Probably not, but we'll see.

42-inch vertical!?!?! To put that in perspective, LD Williams had a 42-inch vertical. Sign him up

Les Johns reporting Wake is the benefit of a flip. Not a name I had heard before.

Article ($$$): http://www.scout.com/college/wake-forest/story/1734949-deacs-get-flip

It's the right move to leave this info in Les' subscriber forum since he had the scoop. I happened to see this recruit at the Clemson game and decided not to post the info. Partly because he was committed to a (non-P5) school at the time. Partly because I couldn't dig up much info about him.

I believe Justin Herron is the last OL we got to flip - 2 years ago. But he was a P5 recruit (Rutgers).

Hope this works out as well as Herron.
