Season Long College Basketball Thread

All the athleticism in the world will not make you a great defender without hard work...not when you are playing talented opposition. And with the effort you must be coached to take proper positions and angles.

The point, Wake has sufficient athleticism to play tough D but the effort and positioning is not there, not enough.

We have a glaring lack of athleticism at SG/SF and with Dinos. Our guys are far below ACC norm in athleticism.

Giles is still projected as number 10 pick in nba draft. I have no idea how /why. To be fair I had never seen him play at the high school level..but he seems to stink as a college player

Giles didn't stink but was unmemorable in the game. Top 10, better jump now.

I cannot dispute that (although I wouldn't say we are "far below" the norm) but that is why I would like to see more and better zone defense.

His potential is so massive that someone will take him hoping he'll be totally healthy.

i can see a scenario where giles stays one more year

Haha. I had the same exact thought at about the same time.

He needs a year of health and coaching. He'd probably be a much higher pick as well.

FSU is so athletic; but UNC is better coached.

Not sure how, because Roy can't coach.

He would be also increasing his risk of another knee injury.

With his knee injury history, I would be gone to the NBA if I got at least one GM who was very interested. Even a first round rookie contract is worth more than the NCAA insurance money.

If takes away his scholarship, so what?

It's not like K is taking off the toughest part of the schedule to avoid getting losses on his record or anything.

It's really amazing how Josh fucking Pastner has a ACC road win and a win against UNC in his first 5 ACC games while Danny Manning hasn't accomplished either of these things in 2+ seasons.
