Presumably OFFICIAL 2016/17 Premier League

Really should have gotten the third by now. I'm super pessimistic lately, but feel like that could be an issue -- there's an opportunity here to really make a statement and cut into the goal difference as well. I think Tottenham are going to start to find the gaps and if they get one back Liverpool might lose their heads a bit.

And Lucas should have buried that one.

Hate we couldn't pull one back somewhere in there (looking at you, Son).

Curious to see if Poch sticks with the current formation and adjusted tactics and hopes to wear down a tiring Pool side in the second half or changes it up substantially.

I wouldn't mind seeing something like N'Koudou replacing Son and moving to a 3-4-3. Might protect Davies a little more. The way we started the game just played right into Pool's hands.

Not the end of the world. Wish we hadn't started the match by trying to build up through the middle, though. Missed Danny Rose a lot.

Thought Wijnaldum and Lucas were really good, actually, and Mane makes the difference. Henderson and Mignolet super solid, too. Mignolet didn't have a ton to do, but had one really good save I think and controlled what he needed to. Solid.

Just got finished watching this on DVR. Great win for us, but it's still incredibly frustrating that we've dropped so many points to teams of much lower quality. I know we lost Mane for about a month but still.

Martial was absolutely fantastic today

except for that one whiff in the box. that was embarrassing.

I'm going to watch again, but that was up there with performance of the season to this point considering the context and circumstances. Spurs were struggling and Pochettino has yet to get them clicking away against the big clubs, but it could have been more and it wouldn't have flattered Liverpool.

Five points from ManU, Chelsea and Totty. One from Sunderland, Swansea and Hull. Not sure Liverpool has enough good teams left on the schedule to finish top four.

And probably the only person who watched the Burnley/Chelski match this morning, Burnley with a big draw. Chelski had 0 shots on goal in the 2nd half.

It's going to be a dog fight for the CL places this year. Fortunately for Spurs, they only have two remaining fixtures against top-6 clubs, both at home. Hold serve as we have so far and we should be ok.

EL is particularly winnable as well.

Emre Can is going through a rough stretch right now -- and even when he looks good, he still looks kind of lumbering and stiff -- but I think he's getting hit too hard lately for his struggles. He definitely wasn't close to the worst thing during this last month of shitty results, but also did nothing to cement his place. I thought he was ready for a breakout this year so have been pretty bummed about that. He had a weird start to the year, but then looked like he was going to click and even started scoring goals -- then started having calf problems, according to Klopp. Really good player but needs to stay fit and nail down a definite spot. Wijnaldum was awesome yesterday, but I thought Emre played a great match against Chelsea. Everyone shit themselves against Hull, though.

Emre Can is Darren Fletcher when he was breaking through. At times you're all like, "oh yeah, he's the business", and then most other times you're all like, "nevermind, he's not."

And yeah, it might be that he just never does it, he's kind of weird. And contract talks have stalled apparently, so maybe he'll be on his way out. I wish Marko Grujic actually existed so we could get more of a sense of what he's like.

Watching MOTD from yesterday finally as the only match I watched was United's. I love that Liverpool's 2nd came from a pointless long ball that Dier just fucked up.

I love Klopp but he cannot keep complaining about sides just playing long balls like his doesn't. He's got to give that shit a rest.

Did Clattenburg have money on Arsenal yesterday?

Sanchez handball
Gibbs not sent off for clearly taking down the attacker as the last man through on goal
(and least contentious) handball on the line leading to the red at the end.

Man United get all the decisions. And nobody else.
