Presumably OFFICIAL 2016/17 Premier League

Admittedly, this outs me as an #anyonebutUnited guy, but I feel like this is emblematic of how shit English football is this year.

Why? United have been creating loads of chances but just not finishing them. Very few poor performances between the 18s with some pleasing football for the neutral, I would have thought.

I guess I'm comparing them to previous United teams. They just aren't great. Good, yes, but really good? I just don't think so. Middlesbrough is terrible. I'm not just pointing the finger at United. Outside of Chelsea, it's a bunch of meh.

Oh, well, yeah, I'd agree with that then. The 95, 99, 00, 08, 09,, and 13 teams would run this one into the ground without breaking a sweat.

This side reminds me of the 05/06 side being that of a team trying to find their identity, not quite being there, but on the verge of things really clicking.

True or False

Antonio Valencia is the best right back in the Premier League this season.

(I can't believe I typed that but it might be true)

Walker and Moses have been better, but they both really play a different position.

For pure RB, Valencia has been better than Bellerin imo.

Yeah, I suppose with the tactical shift to more 3-5-2s that complicates the traditional positional "best" arguments.

He's looked like he's 21 out there flying around, attacking well, connecting passes, and playing pretty good in one-on-one situations. Very deserved accolades for someone to really up their game like that.

Mourinho's best success story so far IMO

I've always loved Tony V but he looks like a beast out there now. His goal today was so funny. Agent Valdes!

Yeah, Walker has been tremendous this year - but he's also been more of a winger than defender in a lot of matches ... Spurs often have Dier in what are traditional "right back" positions instead of Walker. Moses is even more exaggerated because of the lopsided formation they play, Alonso hangs back and tucks in on the left to make their 4 out of possession while Moses is pushed very high (Spurs use Wanyama dropping into the center to do the same thing, meaning both Rose and Walker stay extremely high).

Anyways, yeah - Valencia probably has been the best traditional RB this season. He's been very good.

Schweinsteiger to Chicago, for real this time. Apparently he's set to join as soon as next week assuming everything checks out with his physical and paperwork.

Fire were convinced to go through with the move because Bastian got a goal and an assist vs Wigan in the FA Cup.

One game... SIGN HIM UP

yea, not correct

the point totals are so much higher this season at the top of the table

There appears to be a lot of noise about MY DUDE Gylfi joining us this summer.

Also apparently Spurs are interested in Barkley? I'd make that trade today.

your barkley hate makes no sense

he's been at the center of our recent stretch of outstanding form

i like gylfi a lot, but he's 27 and on triple the barkley wages at 23

we should continue the building young trend we're on imho

Ross just does nothing for me. Sorry. Every FK he takes is into the first defender, he's a rambling mess every time he goes forward and he has zero ability to break down opposing bunkering defenses.

Although TBH I haven't been able to watch anything more than the highlights of our last two matches because I was out of the country. So maybe he was awesome in those matches, I don't know.

How does that prove your point? Yes, Chelsea is (are) on cruise control. Yes, 2-4/5 will be entertaining to watch. But I just think outside of Chelsea (and Spurs at times), the football is meh.
