Retired US Soccer / World Cup Thread (RIP)

Instant replay sucks idk why people consider it a positive. The one sport that it made any sense in no longer even knows what a catch is because of it
 
lol. Rogic's first shot was going about 10 meters wide, it goes off Mustafi's back, rebounds to Rogic who then puts one off the German keeper's hand into the goal. This after Germany should have scored four times and probably has had at least 75% possession.

Now a German penalty to come.

Yeah, he hadn't been well for a while from what my dad tells me (dad played with Tony on a couple Veterans' Cup teams in the late 00s.)
 
Maybe doesn't belong here since Bruce hates him, but D-Will to Huddersfield is sounding like a done deal. Always thought that was likely to happen

Hadn't heard that. That completely sucks. He was a really nice man. I learned how to train goalkeepers from him when he did goalkeeper training at Muhlenberg College back in the early 90s. He was really smart and very energetic. Kinda guy you'd run through a brick wall for.

I have no idea how Russia didn't score off that free header. I also have no idea how Ronaldo missed an open header himself on the counter.

Russian keeper didn't do a great job on the Ronaldo goal, but he's keeping them in the game right now. A couple of outstanding saves, one of which was world class.
