Best wine for under $40

Another 5-10 years. That’s one of the best wines out of California period. You can open tonight too and it’s gonna be excellent. You’re gonna be in peak window now to like 2030
Circling back to this @thatguy2016, Cellartracker's user notes have the drinking range for the Heitz from 2018 to 2031 so I wasn't far off! Those are not scientific and a lot of the time I think the "drink by" date on the range is just when it's about at the end of its peak.

Nice! I should have an event worth celebrating between now and 2031!

I've realized while looking through this and thinking about what wines I have, that not only do I not have any Bordeaux whatsoever, I don't even remember the last time I've tried a glass or bottle of Bordeaux that wasn't tasting with reps at work. I don't really feel like I'm missing out on anything because I don't generally drink a lot of Cab/Merlot at all, but like it's probably something I SHOULD drink more of.
same. that one that Last Bottle threw into my halloween mystery case is probably the first one i have purchased in forever, but damn it was good.

I am always looking to gift out some wine bottles to the wineys in my life without breaking the bank: A hey thanks for being cool no reason here is a bottle of wine, it wasnt expensive so this isnt an imposition gift (cue the martin daphne frasier fight scene over the sweater) type bottle. Throw me some $20-30 bottles that yall love given I am a teetotaler over here

I really like wines from Decoy at that price point and they are easy to find around town.

Luke cab is really good and available in most Publix and Costco's.

This was $900 but had a double magnum of Caymus cab at dinner last night. It excited the table; wine was good but not life changing.

I like everything Frick makes. The man is a legend you might not know about. His carignane (sold out for current vintage) is my go-to. It's easily my favorite wine under 80 bucks.

i assumed it was obvious that this was a client entertainment event. i just was the guy paying.

Spinetta is an excellent producer. Those wines will open up nicely over the course of being open. Can also open them 45 minutes or so before drinking if you want/feasible. Enjoy!

I have not seen that specific label before but it looks to have pretty solid ratings so I’d imagine it’s gonna be a tasty Napa option
