All that's true, individually. Look at the Maryland ACC Tourny game: Carson--34 mins, 2 pts, 1 rb; TC--35 mins +/-, 0 pts, 3 assts; AF--did he even see the court? However, one of the problems with this years team was not just lack of talent, but lack of depth. The 6-man class coming in was supposed to remedy or help remedy both. Now, having just completed a seasons with only 8 scholly players (8 1/2 counting Walker), we're looking at having only 10 next year. Again no depth. Unknown but hopeful amout of talent, but even if talented, very young. So we've only remedied part of the problem, potentially. Add to that with this kind of attrition whether Bz could go out and bring in more talent in the next class to actually start turning things around. More attrition next year leaves us again with little depth and unproven but young talent. Even if NONE of this is Bz's fault, it will be very, very difficult to pull out the rut we are in.
 
Fuck you, bzz. Fuck you. This is probably his plan - as long as we're in this circumstance, he can blame everyone and everything for his failures.
 
With this happening, does Washington HAVE to play significant minutes next season?

Wait a year to save up some cash, and in the meantime let the Dead Man Walking talk start around mid-January of 2013, a la Bruce Weber this year. Wake will get a month of free publicity to plant seeds in whatever coaches are next year's hot commodities, and then let the dominoes fall. Unless Wellman can hit a home run behind the scenes (which he sure as hell didn't do the last go around), I'd rather this be done right than quick.

So, now he's planning on trying to bring in a 7 or 8 man class? That's a fantastic idea.
 
I would think yes, we'll need Washington to almost play the same minutes as Carson this year.
 
Any possibility that CD is leaving because he knows that we are trying to recruit a post grad. big man and that that plus the youth movement spells doom for his pt?

It would be almost funny to see the mood of the boards change if it were announced that such a big man is indeed coming.

Now, if Travis were to leave...that is another story altogether.

Last time we had to throw a freshman center to the wolves, was some unknown guy named Duncan, the least heralded recruit in his class, who got beat up pretty bad in the Great Alaska Shootout. He turned out OK. Maybe Washington will too.
 
If anyone isn't already convinced that Jeff [Redacted] is in over his head and is destroying this program then that quote should do it.

And in the meantime how in the world do we recruit for 2013 or beyond?
 
I just wrote Hatch. Never ever thought I would do anything of the sort. I'm sure I'll get the same canned response (but I referenced it in my email, so that might be interesting).
