I would love to have Harry at WFU. But I really hope that he makes a quick announcement after his visits and as much as I want him in Winston, I do not want him in Durham.

Jarius Hamilton and Zion Hendrix will visit Wake Wednesday.

this thread has to make one wonder whether Beckett's classic would have been as highly acclaimed as it was if it had been published under its original name "Waiting for Giles."

To me, that COULD burn some pretty important bridges for Harry. Not that he necessarily needs those bridges for success, he doesn't, but going to derm and getting boo'ed outta the Joel would certainly be a sour ending to one of those "what could've been scenarios".....

Having said that, only a fool would be worried. Harry will be in the Black and Gold!

Kansas having Late Night at the Phog tonight. A 7pm local start qualifies as a "late night" in Lawrence - take note, Harry.
Serious though, I thought these things couldn't happen until a certain date in mid-October.

It used to be on the first night of practice. That was a week or two ago so anytime now is fine.

I'm pretty sure they moved up the starting date of when teams can start practicing, so no longer are teams doing the midnight madness events near the first days of practice but rather some convenient date between the start of practice and the first game.

slick move by K to get Justise Winslow to masquerade as a high schooler in a Kansas shirt for the weekend.

In other words, you have almost zero data to go on, but you're determined to derive a trend from it anyway?

Specifics? I'm sure one of the stats folks around here can run the numbers, but I don't recall Wake's players consistently being worse than expected.
There are actually 7 players so far, that's not zero. The 3 last year are obvious. Based on all the reports from people here as well as the Duke guys, who I trust more than the recruiting "specialists", it sounds like all 3 this year are better than ranked. People have thrown out the notion that 2015 is the 'star' class aren't they? They certainly aren't ranked that way. A lot of people are talking about BC in 2016 and a friend I trust saw him in a HS game calling him a "steal"....plus I trust bloodlines. It sure looks like Manning is recruiting players playing higher than their ranking. Believe the recruiting "experts" if you want. I think Manning is chasing players that have sound fundamentals (teachable) and with potential high upsides....and which fit his style.

As for not living up to rankings....from the list on post 12735...

Top 75 recruits who didn't play that way: Jeremy Ingram, David Weaver, Skeen, Gurley, Ty Walker, Woods, Swinton was basically top 75 too. There were quite a few in the Odom era. I'm not saying they were busts as players, they just weren't really top 75 players that we need. Skip recruited a lot of local talent that was probably very overrated. That used to be common complaint on these boards.

<75 total busts: AW Hamilton, Cam Stanley, Henley, Joyce. I don't think we see these types of players with Manning...guys who obviously don't belong at this level from day one.

This is a serious line of questions... I was checking out the first post which lists all of the players Wake is considering and who have been extended offers. I also noticed that all of the scholarships are taken for 2016 and 2017. I read somewhere in this post that there is the possibility of Childress not using a scholarship and being a walk-on (I guess he already qualifies for free tuition since his father is associated with the school), so maybe we have one scholarship available.

Given this, how is it Wake has extended so many offers to players? Also, what exactly does an offer mean? If a school extends an offer and the player immediately says yes, is that binding (especially for prospects a few years out)? Do schools routinely extend offers to every 5* player imaginable figuring they won't get many of them? Can an offer be withdrawn?
