These recruiting thread diversions get increasingly weird.
He also said Crab was the most talented player on the team during a broadcast. Ended up being disappointing .

Hudson probably did have the most athletic talent and potential on the team....poor judgement and background don't negate such talent, they just thwart it from being utilized and developed, and at times sabotage it. I think Hudson's and Howard's backgrounds were similar. The difference is Howard was form W-S, had good support from the staff that was connected to the city and his family, and he was here 4 years.
Hudson was also at least two years older than most players in his class, so of course he looked like he had the most potential.
Saying Hudson and Howard in the same sentence is pretty ridiculous, btw.

Similar background, athleticism, size, and potential. One succeeded with his potential, the other, no so much....
Josh was much more highly recruited than Hudson.
Just because they each were 6'7, long and athletic doesn't mean they were same. Josh may have had some growing up to do, but he was massively better than Hudson ever was.
If you like analytics, Josh was Top 6 in a strong ACC in Def Win Shares as frosh and soph. Crab couldn't find his defensive assignment with Google Maps. All four year, Josh was Top 10 in ACC in blocks and three of steals.
He was a better shooter. Crab had no bball IQ versus always understanding the game.
Just because they are both 6'7 and play wing doesn't mean they were ever comparable.
Manning is watching PSA Cardinals play today. That team has Brandon Randolph, Mo Bamba and some other recruits we've offered.
Lot of heavy hitters there.

Roy Williams now on hand along with Calipari, Crean, Danny Manning, Amaker, Pastner, Ollie, Boals, Hunter for Psa Cardinals and South Beach
Very disappointing to see our one commitment so far for 2017 drop out of the top 150, especially coming after the on paper lack luster class of 2016. Our pathway back to the top of the ACC cannot be done through mediocre in game coaching and mediocre player development alone. We need to recruit some top tier talent.
