BUZZ IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!(NOT TROLLING). HE GONE!!!!!

WTF, not already identified???
pretty sure that's just what you say...not that we haven't identified candidates, but if you're trying to sell that the decision wasn't made until this afternoon's meeting...

E-mail from Wellman:

This afternoon I met with Jeff [Redacted] for our annual review of the program. While we both agreed that our program is moving in the right direction, Jeff felt that a change in leadership would benefit the program and help our student-athletes reach their full potential.
During Jeff’s tenure at Wake Forest, he has been faced with a number of challenges. Over the last four years, the team has shown steady improvement on the court and superb improvement off the court. Jeff and his staff have recruited a group of young men who have combined to post the highest grade point average of any men’s basketball team at Wake Forest since we began keeping those records in 1989.
Our goal remains to win ACC Championships and reach the postseason each year. We feel as though we are headed in the right direction and the pieces are in place to reach our goals.
We are very optimistic about the future of the program. The acquisition of the Coliseum and the construction of the Sports Performance Center will allow the program to continue to grow and improve. We are excited about the young men that we have committed to the program for next year as well as the return from injury of two key players. Our future in basketball is very bright.
The search for a new coach will begin immediately. We will engage national basketball leaders to identify the very best candidates. Appropriate University leaders will also be a part of the search process. President Hatch will be an active participant in the search, as well. Since many of the potential candidates are still coaching their teams in post-season tournaments, the process may take a number of weeks. We will work with all of the candidates to allow them to continue coaching their teams while, at the same time, moving forward with our search process.
Go Deacs!

Leaving Raleigh at 4 pm to drive back to Charlotte, so I'll be going through Winston about the time of the presser. What radio station will carry this?

So you didn't, Ron????

Does he still get paid for next year if this is a "resignation"? I would assume if he's fired he gets paid but if he resigns he would not, but what about if he "resigns"?

Jeff Borzello ‏@jeffborzello 31s
Wake Forest immediately becomes most attractive job on the coaching carousel. Good recruiting area, can win there:

He will definitely get paid. You can call it whatever you want so long as you sign on the dotted line.

Wellman's email make me think he's going to screw it up like he did last time.

Wellman needs to just hire a coaching consulting firm like everybody else does. He clearly has no idea how college basketball works hence the reason why he hired [Redacted] in the first place.

I realize it is what he has to say but Wellman's email makes me want to puke.

Did you actually read the email? That's about the closest you will get to an apology from Wellman. He basically just told all of us "because I fucked up last time, I will be overseen by Hatch and working with other basketball people around the country'

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanESPN
Archie Miller played at N.C. State. Interesting to see if Wake Forest would be in play. Ron Wellman needs to hit it with this hire.

FINALLY!

I don't even know what to say... this has been 4 long years of waiting.

Now I can enjoy the NCAA tourney a little bit.
