Demon Deacon Podcast

Would you be interesting in listening to a Wake Forest Sports Podcast?

I think you could work in some non-sports Wake Forest content to liven it up, funny stories about parties or professors, updates about campus construction.

The main thing I'd tune in for would be expert breakdowns of the most recent game. Like a ex coach or former Wake player. Somebody who knows their stuff. I know one guy who is available but I don't think he'd be a good fit.

I was thinking about doing a listener-sent-in story segment of tailgates/games/parties/etc. is that something that'd fit that interest?

Yeah I would definitely want to do this. I have to decide if I'm doing weekly or bi-weekly and thenfigure that out in regards to bringing someone in for both basketball and football. For football I was thinking one on Sunday for listening Monday that would have the breakdown of the game and then have one midweek that's more recruiting/visitor centered (if I want to do biweekly).

Good afternoon Deacon fans - I hope everyone's Sunday is going well.

I wanted to gauge the general Wake Forest fan's interest in the possibility of starting up a podcast dedicated to Wake Forest Sports. From what I know, one does not exist at this time. I have followed WFU sports religiously for my entire life and am looking to pick up a hobby that I'll enjoy greatly and hopefully help other deacon fans stay up-to-date on the goings-on of each program. I am a recent college graduate and am looking to invest some of the extra time I have in something I care about.

Some details on what I was thinking for the podcast:
-Sports covered would be football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, etc. (others would probably be by request as the ones stated are the ones I follow closely)
-Topics from these sports would be recruiting, games, any news from practices, twitter happenings, etc.
-Hopefully I would have the opportunity to have guests on that write about WFU sports already, possibly ex-players still in the area, coaches, current players.

Generally, I'm looking to actually put some of my obsessive Wake Forest Sports knowledge to good use and anyone that doesn't have time to read articles, get on message boards, or watch videos could take some time to listen to the podcast in the car a couple times a week (I'm thinking a bi-weekly podcast, with possibly one a week during slow sports periods). I'm interested to see what everyone here thinks and if they would be interested. It's been an incredible sports year for wake forest and I'm looking forward to sustained success!

P.S. Also taking name requests (this should be interesting).

This is genuinely what I expected and as long as your entertaining, screw it I'll take it. We can have a "hottest of takes" segment with some of the guys on here. First podcast title will definitely be "is Danny Manning Credible?"

Good points. Chunk of the podcast being basketball/football with touches on everything else.

Yeah I was thinking about that as well. I could see just recruiting, practice, and game stuff getting somewhat boring and redundant. I would like to have people come on and debate with each other. Some of the debates that happen on here are interesting and (relatively) relevant. What if I had an RJ vs (insert poster here) segment once a week?*
Recruiting could take up a maximum of about 10 minutes per podcast after the first couple are released without getting repetitive in my opinion.
I would like to have other Wake fans on to debate with me or have two on to debate each other as a segment, possibly different recruiting analysts, coaches, players, and ex players if interested - but would probably have to get more established before the later will be a regular thing.

*joking but would like to have debates on the podcasts

This podcast is going to have more content than OGBoards.

Definitely need Brasky as first interview

Brasky needs to be on it for sure. Especially if he gets drunk before recording.

podcasts are literally too contrived for brasky

I'm not sure how my #hottake on how Wake athletics is nothing more than a tax shelter and play thing for the 5 people who now own the university, would go over on a pod. But thanks for thinking of me!

Well as I said, the recruiting segments would end up being really short since I'm not expecting a lot of new stuff per week. Every segment wouldn't be on each podcast either.
