Game of Thrones - House of the Dragon - (and beyond) Discussion (spoilers allowed)

Missandei with the missed opportunity to grab Cersei and shove her off the side of the wall when Cersei was telling her to say her last words

Missed opportunity indeed. I was hoping cersei was going to shove her off herself. That would have really provoked khaleesi

I was too. It would have been full circle back to Ned Stark. Be the executioner. And it would have been her doing it not out of justice but hate

Definitely seems they are setting Daenerys up to not survive.

But who knows? They seem to be willing to yank character development around in quantum leaps lately.

Like it makes absolute sense for Varys to turn on Dany. But not in a blink of an eye. Just a waste of his entire character they've spent 8 years developing.

why are people so obsessed with the treatment of ghost?

It seems like this season really should’ve been twice as long. Instead, they’re jamming two of the biggest battles and consequential interactions in six episodes. So, everything has to be rushed by virtue of them doing so. Unfortunate, because I think one of the main reasons why everyone has loved the show is how detailed and deliberate it was in its story telling.

The direwolf story line goes back to the very beginning (first or second ep?) when the Stark kids all get their wolves. And Ghost is there with Jon to help save Jeor Mormont from the initial wight attack, etc. He’s been along for so long now it seems messed up to just ignore him for a season, barely bring him back, and then send him off with little fanfare.

Also in the books there is a much stronger connection between the Starks and the direwolves. A lot of which is lost in the show.

"If Jon casually brushing aside Ghost for the final two episodes isn’t devastating enough, he doesn’t even give his pup a final pet. He gives Sam Tarly and Tormund giant bro-hugs; all he has for Ghost is a curt nod. Ghost is crushed—somebody please give him a biscuit and a snuggle."

"If there’s any consolation, Tormund is definitely going to be a kickass dog owner."

Fan theories out there that there's at least one more dragon coming, which is why Euron looks so terrified in the preview looking up at the sky. Possibilities: Drogon is a girl (or just gender-less) dragon and had babies when she/it was chilling on her/its own for a while several seasons back. Or dragons weren't totally dead before and come to Jon or Dany's aide from somewhere else. Maybe the Lord of Light sends them (hell maybe Rhaegal gets resurrected somehow) or maybe Bran finally does something cool and finds one to warg into (highly unlikely).

Oh and also, you can see a cloaked figure walking through (the opposite direction of) the Golden Company in the previews. Gotta be either Jaime or Arya with a different face going to try to end Cersei.

Jorah and Tyrion saw a dragon while floating through Valyria, so it appears there are others alive.

I love dogs. They're hilarious.
