Yeah definitely a great move by the USGA. I didn't realize it until looking at the results but I've run into Matt Finger and Scott Shingler a few times here in the DC area. Great players, cool to see their teams made it to match play.
Four ball is a funny game. One of the finalist teams last year had two players who were ranked outside the top 2000 in the WAGR.
Also, the WAGR is skewed heavily towards college players, so don't read too much into the rankings. Christovich and Rank are two of the best Mid Ams in the country and will give our guys fits.
Your boy Scott Harvey is the No. 2 seed. Not sure if you saw that or not.

McBride and Young are 1 up thru 11 holes: http://www.usga.org/championships/2016/u-s--amateur-four-ball/scoring.html
I think you may have been looking at the other Young. Either that or the page is way behind for me. That said, McBride and Young are now 1 Up thru 12.
I'm just glad the USGA is letting people score birdies at Winged Foot for once
Those of us old enough to remember how the course played when Hale Irwin won the 1974 US Open at Winged Foot at +7 will always think that way.
