Ph, you should read up on the scouting randomness thread in the test forum. I think you're being way too conservative-- he never explicitly said what the numbers were, but his comments gave the impression that they can fluctuate way more than anything you're talking about here.

I gave those numbers 2-5 as examples. My analysis definitely suggests the actual numbers are bigger. For example, the Poor standard deviation suggests a Poor Scouted Fair rated player basically has a normally distributed odds to have any rating.

With the long weekend and Irma breathing down our necks, totally forgot to check last night. Wish I hadn't...

Cleveland L1C4 87
Amarillo Nightmare 71

Statistically the biggest difference in the game was getting out rebounded by 13 and shooting 29 for 66 (43%) while allowing them to shoot 55% 37 for 67. Height and Defense are the Achilles heel of this team and likely will be for several seasons.

St. Martinville Spoonbills 81
Santa Ana Thrill 55

Shocked at the margin of victory over what had been a much more highly ranked team. Getting out of the zone after game 3 was a step in the right direction, as was shooting threes much more judiciously (4-6 last night). Sitting at 4-3 (3-0) right now, but have two tough games in the South Division coming up- #13 Atlanta and a top 100 Hialeah team. My North Division has no one else in the top 220, so these games are my last opportunity to get decent scalps before the conference tournament.

Also trimmed my recruiting list, gave up on in-conference stud Logan Jones (#4 heavily recruited in the nation). I was shocked he was so high (great player, but I am recruiting a few with better ratings who aren't close to that high), but with Poor+ local everyone and their mother feels they have a shot at him. Being in conference, I concede I don't.

Cincinnati roots showed in our last game, another 23 fouls and 26 Free Throws given leads to our worst loss this year, 12 points. I'm taking a lot of pride in my team, we are literally terrible (recruiting rankings wise) - but we hang around in games. My guess is that Kmoney made it so there are fewer blowouts and its all just to make us little people feel better, but I will take it.

San Antonio Horror 68
Amarillo Nightmare 65

Warak bested me in our first meeting of league 31. While we only had 8 TOs to the Horror's 15, our shooting killed us yet again. This time 37.8% from the field. Congrats bud. Looking like only 1 team will make the NTT out of C24.

Flagstaff WhipperSnappers 112
Carlsbad Fighting Eagles 115 (3OT)

Don't really even know where to start. Quick browse of the PbP looks like an incredible game. Tied 45 all at the half. My guys hit a lay up with 7 seconds left to tie it in regulation. They hit a 3 at the buzzer to send it to a 2nd OT. They hit another buzzer beater to send it to a third OT, and finally put me away with two FT's with 3 seconds left to get the win. Lot of great performances in this game with really the only exception being FT's. We went 19-43 from the line this game

For the season my squads shooting stats are 52.5/48.5/55.2 Not really sure how that's even possible but oh well. Before this game I was 6-1 and ranked in the top 20 but have dropped to somewhere in the 30's. Hope the guys bounce back, can't let this one beat us twice.....

Great game from my Soph C Alexander Farmer. He went for 13/22 (11 offensive )/5assist /2 defensive stats/1TO.
Diego Waiters had 36, Devin Moon had 29 and 11 boards, PG Tanner Harris had 14 assists, etc. I'm guessing this has to have been the game of the year on the fake KenPom analysis but it stings to lose this one.

We have the most talented team we will play in the regular season up next in Pasadena, so I could be staring at quite the drop in the rankings.....

Texas Terror Game - Level 1

San Antonio Horror 68
Amarillo Nightmare 65

I am sure this is not what many expected as we came in with the worst record in the Conference against the best record in the Conference, but that is why they play the game! It took a surprised career game from SO SG Domenico Counts with 20pts, who was shooting 38% entering the game. our start SR PF Andrew Cannon chipped in with 10pts. my team just can't shoot...it is bad.

This surprise win brings us to 3-5 (3-1) and a tie for the Conference lead with a team we already beat. all five loses were under 10pts, including 4 of them at five points or less. I hope this is the turning point and we can start winning more of these close games.

Good luck Storm, it will be a fight for that lone NTT spot...maybe i should not make it as i will lose every game!

big night for recruiting, i am eagerly awaiting the results...

Colby Melanson (72) - know of at least one other team. - 6'11" C
Spencer Carver (23) - know of at least two other teams - 6'9" PF/C
Raymond Rose (NL) - idk, never seen him mentioned anywhere...fingers crossed - 6'7" SF/PF

After beating Ph at Myrtle Beach (the White Shadow in reverse?), Durham Deacon Blues have dropped two in row. Coach awaken has removed benches from locker room and banned players wearing school name apparel until they show they can represent the school appropriately. Also, his back is beginning to get sore....

Back to back double digit losses and Stillwater is sliding back towards where I was expecting to end up this season. With our season basically washed out until the tournaments, tonight gets even bigger. For posterity, some guesses on maxes - mine: Oliver (6) 12 teams, Biles (73) 4 , Garey (UR) 3 . Not mine: Pribble (1) 25 , Flores (2) 18 , Boucher (39 - Stillwater dropped) 6.

My only loss was to awaken. I have no idea how to coach this team.

Here are my maxes:

Cody McEachern (59)
Reece Whitney
Steven Blount

I've got a very broad net with some promising players.

Here is a list of every player who has shown up on the Most Recruited List with # of appearances and a recruiting score (sum of their rankings in which 1 = 75 pts, 2 = 74 pts, etc):

Amarillo's Recruits
Juan Flores (2)
Frank Riddle (52)
Hugh Maly

I dropped off Connor Smith (9) after week 1 as I didn't want to chase two top 10 players and felt he would be easier to find in the net than Flores. I'm relieved that none of my net bumps this week are on PH's list. Fingers crossed Maly is a CL and I can land another 1 or 2 in the net. Otherwise, I'm going to really struggle next season.

Not quite as bad as feared, but not good. Got a 0/4 in my net, and in the mix with some others. Will fall off Janicki to pursue those in net.

Oh, and Durham beat Clemson to break the streak. Turns out coach awaken had his PG and SF switched. Put them in their proper positions, and the PG had 11 assists and the SF had 23 pts. Don't let rebounding dictate positioning.

Keep in mind it's equally distributed by position.

Pretty happy about my first reveal back.

Cody McEachern (59) 2/2
Reece Whitney 1/1
Steven Blount 1/1

Very happy about 6-6, 228, SF Steven Blount. He's a Fair scouted FEEF_E. He projects pretty close to that in my formula at +8.0 (None- = -3.5 to Exc+ = 3.5) and the #20 player the last time I ran the numbers. My competition is a 1-8 team in his area. Blount is Fair Local and Good win, so I like my chances.

I'll have to go back and run the numbers to see where I stand on Whitney. His numbers have fallen off and he projects as a backup PF. I need the size though. My competition is an area 6-3 team. He's None Local and Good win. I like my chances here too.

McEachern is a big-time 6-2 scoring PG from Houston (Ts and Ps). He's averaging 34.5 ppg, 2.1 stl, but only 1.1 ast and 2.8 to. He'll be a fine bSG greenlight microwave. My competition is an area team and one just outside the area (3-6). McEachern is None Local, Fair- Win, Good- Impact. I like my chances.

I have several unmaxed players in my net, but most have 32 to 49 points on them so someone did max them at some point. Not sure if I'm going to move on those. There are 3 where I'm in reach.

Let me know how many teams maxed the players on my list above. I'm going to use it to try to project the Most Recruited list like I used to do.

Ouch. Humble pie for me....

Norman Sooners smash us 100 to 70. Ugh, but recruiting looks more promising...

Juan Flores (2) 11/11
Frank Riddle (51) 1/1
Hugh Maly CL
Connor Smith (7) (whom I dropped) 10/11

My net also was somewhat generous with
Matthew Cox 0/7
Logan Gwynn 1/4
Howard Merritt 2/5

I will be maxing 5 of the 6 players throughout. Just have to decide which combination and if I want to roll the dice on 11/11 Flores. Having a Max 1/1, Max CL and a Likely CL Netter makes it tempting to roll the dice on him.
