Okie State also an eye-brow raiser.

Well, I see that they are actually on most people's lists, why? I would think they would be the poster child for why programs like Florida and Ohio State shouldn't be on the list. No real success before or after Sutton.

OSU and UF have some of the most lucrative athletic departments in the country. A little different than Ok St.

Well, Oklahoma State does have Pickens, but that's why I put OSU on my list and didn't put Oklahoma State on it (meant to put Florida towards the bottom but forgot).

Pickens has a ton of cash, but OSU, Texas, and UF just print money.

So you're all saying we are a top 25 program and [Redacted] was the best we could do?

Good question. Found difficulty placing Florida, Wisconsin, Maryland and UCONN. After the first 6 or 7, it's not really that clear. Any of the "honorable mention" schools are programs that are top-25 caliber jobs but aren't there consistently. Some of those schools in the 20-25 range could certainly be lower, but I think they have a bit higher ceiling due to facilities and/or recruiting grounds with a top coach. History not quite as a big of factor in the list below.

The Blue Bloods
1) North Carolina
2) Kentucky
3) Kansas
4) Indiana
5) UCLA
6) Duke

The All-Stars
7) Michigan State
8) Louisville
9) Florida
10) Ohio State
11) Arizona
12) Syracuse
13) UCONN

Quality Programs
14) Georgetown
15) Pittsburgh
16) Marquette
17) Gonzaga
18) Wisconsin
19) Maryland

Strong Potential, but inconsistent
20) Texas
21) Georgia Tech
22) Virginia
23) Villanova
24) St. John's
25) Missouri

Close to Glory (no particular order)
NC State
Wake Forest
Notre Dame
Illinois
UNLV
Xavier
Oklahoma State
Temple
Oregon

Henry Iba says hello.

ZING.

But seriously, Oklahoma State has been recruiting well for the better part of a decade, has the tradition, and has the financial backing to be good. In a lot of ways, Sean Sutton (total turd) and Travis Ford (mediocrity defined) have wasted some of Ok. State's potential.

Probably the list closest to the one I'd have, save the St. John's pick.

Hard to see GTown/UConn/Marquette/Nova as a Top 15 coaching position with realignment

People who think UCLA is a top coaching position are living in the past. No one in LA or California gives a shit about college basketball, they have shitty facilities, they can't recruit the east coast.

Catholic 7 will be fine in terms of realignment. They won't have big football money, but they will continue to be the bell cows for programs that are bringing in increasingly valuable TV deals for just basketball. They will still get plenty of teams in the tournament.

G'town, Marquette and Nova are in a major bball conference.

Marquette and Nova have storied pasts going back about half a century each. They are top programs and pay very, very well.

UConn and G'Town are moire about having a great a coach without one they could fall by the wayside. UConn not having a decent conference could hurt.

Seems like Duke/UK/Kansas/UNC would be the easy top 4 in some order. Duke has been the most successful of those four over the last 20 years. The rest probably fluctuates every year. I don't buy that UCLA belongs in that category, despite their rich history.

I don't care what anyone says, Wake And NC State are Top 25 positions. They are NC ACC schools. We may living int he shadow of the blues, but we are Tobacco Road. It doesn't get much better.
