Retired US Soccer / World Cup Thread (RIP)

They are now using cameras behind the goal when the ball is in the attacking third. Interesting perspective.

Goal Ireland! Couldn't see it go in but the players are running around celebrating

Jones and Altidore continue to look like trash in 2015 for the USMNT

Can we please move on from those two

With all the great stadiums in the US, why are we playing this on a baseball field?

They're trying to throw STL a bone. As it was the hotbed of US soccer during the dark years.

Possibly trying to pimp a future MLS franchise

Because we can fit more people in the baseball stadium

Chargers and 49ers are on byes this week. Both stadiums are grass. Play it in one of those stadiums if attendance is an issue. Is the grass over the dirt temporary? If this was in outfield, no big deal, but they are playing over the infield and pitching mound.

We have enough games in Cali

Far too many in my opinion

Apparently the pitch is sturdy even though it looks crappy on TV. The other STL option is a dome.

Not to mention that the grass/turf at Levi's Stadium (SF) is a fucking disaster
