Retired US Soccer / World Cup Thread (RIP)

there is a chance we won't be taking part in the next WC

If we lose at home to freakin' Guatamala, we don't deserve to advance.

And even if that happens, we still likely advance.

The game should be over before the debate, I saw someone tweet that.

715 kickoff will make it close depending on stoppage time

1st half ends around 8
HT over at 815
2nd half ends around 9

It would be cutting it close. 7pm kickoff and there isn't a worry

@GrantWahl: USA-Guatemala WCQ will end a few minutes before start of presidential debate. Won't be a problem seeing both if you're interested.

*snicker* Good luck with that.

Exactly, that's what scares me. He doesn't need to play these matches like we are playing Spain or Germany, we are the superior team in every imaginable way and should play like it.

That being said I'm with you dv7, the math isn't adding up once you count stoppage time.

Poland v England might be postponed due to weather - decision at 3:00

Who do we want in the Hex?

There's potential for:

USA
Mexico
Panama
Guatemala
Costa Rica
Honduras

That's a pretty tough Hex

I'd rather see:

USA
Mexico
Jamaica
Canada
El Salvador
Panama

Costa Rica is at home vs Guyana, so they're in. They'd have to lose and El Sal beat Mexico.

Panama is a lock as well, at home vs Cuba.

Canada playing for their lives at Honduras. Need a W or D

My predections:

USA
Mexico
Costa Rica
Jamaica
Panama
Honduras

Romney/Ryan agree with Grant Wahl then! Math be damned!

I know...I know...no politics here, but I had to take that cheap shot.
